this blog is aimed in particular at Kristal Patton - but also at anyone else who writes to me and doesn’t get a reply.
Thanks Krystal for taking the time to write to me and tell me how much you like the Faerie Path series. I did try to send you a reply to your mail, but my server rejected your email address and wouldn’t send it.
I just want to say here that I try to reply to all the mail I get from fans, and that if you don’t get a response, it means either the mail never got to me or I was unable to send one back.
I start the day reading fan mail and I always read everything I am sent - your mails mean a lot to me and I don’t want anyone who reads and enjoys my books to think I don’t care about you. I do!
Oh, and while I’m here - Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!

Happy Valentine’s Day to you too! Going to start reading the Enchanted Quest either later today or tomorrow
Happy Valentine’s day!!
It’s so cool how you are so dedicated to reading all your fan mail!It means a lot to me when a author really takes the time to sit read through there fan mail.It means to me you really care about your readers. Happy Valentine’s Day!
I have just read the book and it is worth the wait.
to what caila said, ya most authors just skim through fan mail.
All I can say about The Enchanted Quest is WOW. I did not expect that one. In a way I figured something like that would be the price, but I really didn’t know what was going to happen. It was brillent! I can’t wait for The Charmed Return. I hate waiting in between books
This book was worth the wait, but I hate that I read them fast, I can’t read slow, lol.
talking about fan mail.. have you ever gotten accual fan MAIL like in the mail?
AFJ. I do occasionally get actual fan mail on paper in envelopes - but only now and then, and often from school students who have been asked to write a letter to a favourite author as part of their English lessons. The problem with these is that they can take months to arrive - they get sent to the publisher in New York, who then sends them on to the editors in London, who finally send them to me - one recently was received by me in December, having been sent in September - the writer must have thought I couldn’t be bothered to answer! I did, though. With apologies for the delay. Corresponding with you guys online is much better.
So now Chinese New Year + Valentines Day + Presidents Day r ALL over! Bac 2 school 4 me
. Allan - I like to write and im writing a script for a play me and my friend r doing, Any tips?
AFJ. Aimee - there are some general writing hints on the FAQ page - but for a play, the most important thing is to make everything sound as real and as natural as possible - so my tip would be to speak all the lines aloud as you write them - so you are sure they sound like things people would actually say. Maybe even record the lines and listen to them back to make sure.
thats what my english teacher always tells me to do when im writing because sometimes writing wont flow quite as well when it just comes striaght from your head and you tend to catch mistakes more when you read it out loud
Thanks Allan! Me and my friends(the ones writing the play with me) just tried that and we found like 10 parts that sounded like a documentary! ( The play’s about this girl whos parents are killed because they are secret agents and have really valuble info (she didnt know that at first) and she goes on a journey to find out her parents past and how to save the future )
Oh……I DONT write like that in the scritpt!
script… sry!
thats is true, what liz said.
yup but the only thing that i can never find is grammer misstakes like words that are real words so spell cheak doesn’t pick it up but its still wrong….
liz- ya me too. im a bad speller but i can read the hardest words! and im not good at finding grammer mistakes, that’s why i got microsoft word, it lookes for mistakes as your writting it.
Aimee- i hope your play turns out awsome!!! =D
Daniela-Thankz!
Everyone - So my class went 2 c The Lightning Theif. They really messed up that movie! The book wus ok but the movie wus NOTHING like the book!
Allan - is that why some people dont want a movie?
AFJ. Aimee - that’s part of the problem that people have with a movie of a book they like, for sure. Also, any movie is going to be the Movie Director’s idea of what the book should look like - so it’s not going to be the same as anyone else’s. The best movie is probably inside every individual reader’s head.
aimee- awwww really!? and i was gonna go see it, but then again my cousins also told me it was bad… but im going to see alice in wonderland and ima go dressed as alice to see the movie! i LOVE dressing up! but pple tell me im too old, but i dont care ill go dresses as alice if i want =) does anyone love dressing up nowadays? oh well… how bout you allan?????
Ok …..I like that. I’m ok if ther’s no move ‘caus i got a better one in my head ………yeah….i like that.
dressed, sorry typo
AFJ. Daniela - dressing up?? Only if I could be the Mad Hatter.
I would Totally Dress from the Elizabethan Time Period!!! If I could and not be looked at funny, I would ALWAYS dress as a princess with a little tiara and my hair in nice even coils.
Oh yes, I’m also Definitely going to see Alice in Wonderland! I mean it’s Tim Burton, it has to be good.
man everyone wants to be the mad hatter. i dont blame you he’s one of the awsome characters XD
p.s allan-how many books do you have to sell in order to make book 7 ????
AFJ. Daniela - how many books? I don’t know an actual number - as many as possible, I guess. I think that if book 6 sells more than say 25,000 in hardback, that would probably do the trick, but that’s only a guess.
omg i REALLY want 2 c Alice in Wonderland!!!!!! me and all my bffs were gunna go c it together. Ill convince all my friends 2 dress up 4 u Daniela! ok?
(Aimees num.1 BFF) i don’t think i will do that. I mean dress up and every thing.
allan- =O wow really? cool… =D
addie- i no me to i would like to dress up as one of the pple during the elizabethan times and i one wore a tiara my grandma bought me and i wore it everywhere all day =D too bad my hair is to short to make curls oh well =/
AFJ. I’m a total Tim Burton fan, so I’m looking forward to the Alice movie as well. I have the Alice books in hardback, plus I have the stories on talking book CDs and I have a DVD of a 1933 Hollywood version, as well as a more recent version from the 1970s (well, it’s recent to me!) and also two TV versions on DVD, one from the 1960s and the other from 1999. I also have an Alice in Wonderland chess set and some Alice statuettes (Alice, the White Rabbit and the Mad Hatter)along with a bass-relief wall-mount of the Mad Tea Party. I guess you can officially call me an Alice fan from way back!
aimee- u r too nice aimee =D man my best friend is scared to see the movie! can you believe that? and my other best friend well she doesnt want to see the movie… my mom will be the red queen i will be alice ( short hair alice ) and my little sister will be the bunny!
miranda- awwww your not into that type of stuff??? awww well….
allan- wow you must know everything about A.I.W i have a miny statue of alice, and a teacup with the mad hatter’s face on it. it’s so cool =D
on the comment on 2-24-10 sorry it was for aimee hahaha sorry =( typo
in the previews, i would say my favorite charactar was the red queen, even though she’s sort of evil. but she’s good at acting and shes funny!! her head is so big though…haha
yay! stephanie your on my team! =D at school we do team red and team white based on alice in wonderland. im on team red. =D
yess alice in wonderland is coming out today!!! Go ReD TeAm!!! lol
AFJ. I have just set Johnny Depp Mad Hatter as my computer wallpaper. Plus I’ve signed up with Amazon to be alerted the moment the movie is out on DVD! Anyone been to see the movie yet? If you do, why not post a review on here as a comment? I’d be really interested in your opinions.
guess wat! I JUST SAW ALICE IN WONDERLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 it wus awesome. my costume rocked!
i went to the movie theater and it was jam packed!
p.s so i didnt see it…… =(
I just watched it yesterday with my friends, and it was very good! Funny, exciting, a little sad, and happy! lol but overall i’d rate it a 9 out of 10. i really liked it!!
I went to the movie theaters and I didn’t pre order a ticket so, I saw Dear John. It was surprisingly Really Good. It was sad, but good. I would Most Definitely Recommend it.
After the Movie, I went to Starbucks and got a Cinnamon Dulche Frappucino or something like that and when I got home, I got my shower, Brushed my teeth and put my retainer in, Got into my bed, started reading Vampire Diaries 2 and Crashed.
awwwww! lucky aimee. was it packed???? my alice costume is almost finished. i just need the apron. =D
addie- do u wear the retainer 24-7 or when u sleep or what? i have to wear mine 24-7 or eles my teeth will move. =( it’s a pain taking it out and putting it in and taking it out and putting it in and taking it out and putting it in!!!!!!!!!!
just when i sleep. but of course, i have had like 3 other retainers before and i had to have braces 2 times because i got them on and got them off because my baby teeth weren’t out, then i got them back on and i got them off, and now i wear a retainer. my retainer tastes nasty.
addie- =O im playing with my retiner right now =D oh ya is any one gonna see diary of a wimpy kid?? i wanna see that movie! the books made me laugh!!!! i have to pre order the tickets thought cuz i know the movie will be sold out.
Daniela-it wus actally REALLY emty
